I am passionate about spreading the word about yoga nidra meditation in Atlanta, Georgia and beyond. In this busy, crazy world we live in, we all could benefit from this simple yet powerful "deep rest medicine."
My own Yoga Nidra journey started when a friend randomly gave me the book Daring to Rest by Karen Brody and I decided to do the 40 day yoga nidra meditation program outlined in the book. I was blown away by the changes I experienced after the 40 day program. Not only did I feel more rested, calm and centered, I felt powerful, capable and finally felt that I was "enough." Yoga nidra really is my super power-- it is always there for me when I am feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, unfocused, or not grounded.
My yoga nidra offerings are heavily influenced by my teachers, Karen Brody, with Daring to Rest Yoga Nidra, and Nick Atlas, with Evolutionary Education. I am also indebted to the writings and teachings of Kamini Desai and Richard Miller.
Yoga nidra meditation works on every level-- your physical, energy, mental, wisdom, and bliss bodies. My "style" of yoga nidra meditation weaves in Daring to Rest yoga nidra but also focuses particularly on the energy/breath body. When your energy is balanced, your body can more easily heal itself.
Additionally, I received my 200 hour yoga teacher training in Vinyasa, Kundalini, and Ashtanga yoga with the amazing Leigh Mallis of Pranic Soul Yoga.
I am also an American Reflexology Certification Board nationally certified reflexologist and Reiki practitioner. To learn more about my reflexology/energy work, please go to my website www.reflexologybysarah.com.
I was honored to be interviewed by Jamie Butler for her The Ligher Side Show Podcast about my passion for practicing and teaching yoga nidra meditation. It was such a fun discussion.
